Birds in Dryer Vents

In Phoenix Arizona we don’t have to long of a Spring time but in that 1-2 months that we do birds love to make nest in dryer vents. In the last 2 months ive pulled out about 10-13 birds nest from mostly dryer vents but a few from exhaust fans and 1 even from a water heater exhaust. Birds love the warmth the dryer vent gives its a great nesting spot, not to hot by the time it gets all the way out there. This can create big problems down the road, it creates a blockage sometimes 100% blockage if the birds nest is big enough. Then it keeps getting even bigger with the ling its trying to push out. A few months back a customer had a 100% blockage from a birds nest which created condensation in the vent from all the moisture the dryers trying to expel from the wet clothes, he had huge wet spots on his ceiling that was from water in the dryer vent leaking from the connections where the vent comes together, it was so bad that the vent was staring to rot and fall apart because water had been sitting in there so long. i pulled out the birds nest what started the problem and gave the guy a repipe where the vents were rotted. I also got him a bird cover to keep future birds out, you can find here .
